New Orleans Warehouse District Condos, Henderson Condos under go a face lift
February 1st, 2008 categories: New Orleans Condo Reviews, Warehouse District
The Henderson Condos located at 700 Commerce, in the middle of the New Orleans Warehouse District, are undergoing a face lift. The location is great - several blocks from Harrah’s Casino and close to the Mississippi River and the New Orleans Convention Center. While not finished, it looks great, adding light and ambiance. Many of the units in the complex are in need of updating, but they are priced as such. Look for more people to update their units to follow the trend in the common areas. The location and building updates will enhance the value of the individual condos. This makes for some good buys available if you wish to do the updating. The Henderson is the only place I know of in the area where you can get a 2 bedroom under 200k with the potential to make it into a great home. Parking, while limited in the complex, can be had within a block. Some of the updates include new paint in the atrium areas, new tile flooring, an updated lobby, and other items coming on line. The best units are overlooking Commerce Street, a quiet alley that dead ends a block away. This is a good example of an association coming alive again and doing things to increase the quality of life and the values of their units. This was one of the first downtown condos, converted to condos from rentals over 10 years ago.
